In 1970, we came together as a parish community meeting in Mercy Hall at Mercyville (presently known as Provena Mercy Hospital) for our Sunday liturgies and educational classes. Our daily liturgies and meetings were held at the rectory on Chantilly Lane.
In 1972, we had saved enought money to purchase eight actes of land. 1975 brought the completion of the multi-purpose building, which enabled us to meet the liturgical, educational, and social needs of our parish. The new rectory-parish center was finished in 1981. That same year the " House-Give-Away" program was brought to a close after fifteen months of hard work by the people. This successful program made us debt free at the time.
January 1982 marked the beginning of a new phase in our history. The building commission began to plan our new church building with Prisco-Duffy and Associates. Our dreams and concepts of worship and worship space were translated into drawings. The Warren Brothers Construction Co., then turned those drawings into brick and mortar.
The founding Bishop, the Most Reverend Arthur J. O'Neill, the founding Pastor, The Reverend Edward S. Wright and their brother priests joined the people of this parish and dedicated the Church to the Blessed Sacrament on September 16, 1984.
In 1992 after many successful building fund drives we "burned" our mortgage papers and for the second time in our history we were debt free.
1996 brought a great honor to The Reveverend Edward S. Wright, our pastor, he was bestowed the honor of the title Monsignor.
"Parish Stewardship" a new program was introduced to the parish in 1997. In this program members of the parish family were asked to share and make a commitment of their "Time and Talents" as well as their "Treasure".
In 1998 we embarked on a new Capital Campaign aimed at a new Religious Education building. This Campaign was called "Chioldren Today, Leaders Tomorrow". The program was so successful (along with a continuing of saving over the past 6 years) that we had our groundbreaking celebration for this new building on July 4, 1999. Our dedication was held in September of 2000.

Parish registration is necessary before making arrangements for Baptism, wedding and enrollment in Religious Education Program. Moreover, when you register, it also makes you personally feel that you 'belong' to Blessed Sacrament. Every Wednesday, we have Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament following Mass
from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Please use the bell tower entrance and and to spend some time with the Lord.
What is Adoration?
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is a time to adore Him, to thank Him, to seek His direction.After a time of adoration and thanksgiving, make your needs known. Thank Him for all the good things He has done for you and your family. Bring your concerns to Him. Bring everything to God for guidance, wisdom and for courage where needed.
Adoration is a time of pondering Christ's suffering for us. You might read Isaiah 52 and 53 which speak prophetically of the suffering the Messiah endured for us. Read the Gospel accounts of the suffering and death of Christ on the cross.
St John Paul II urges us to gaze on the risen face of Christ to grow not only in faith but in hope. Know that Christ loves us infinitely and has made it possible for us to share life with Him for all eternity.
In His Eucharistic presence, He remains mysteriously in our midst as the one who loved us ‘to the end' and gave Himself up for us and He remains under signs that express and communicate this love.
Let us find time to meet Him in Adoration.
What do you actually do during Adoration?
You may sign up to be an "adorer" which allows you to schedule yourself for one or more hours per week to pray before the very presence of Our Lord, exposed in the monstrance. It means that you can have some time alone with Jesus to recite your favorite prayers, read the bible, contemplate acts of faith, hope, charity, thanksgiving, reparation, pray a rosary or do whatever type of prayerful devotion that suits you before Our Lord.You can just sit and say nothing simply keeping Him company, just as you would with a dear friend.
How can I help?
If you would like more information about becoming a captain for one hour or a sub please call the parish office.
Please call Fr. Max or the parish office if you or your family member is sick or will be hospitalized and wants to receive the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick.

next weekend’s bulletin.
